Kindergarten Program
Irvine After School Kindergarten Program
Welcome to the Irvine Branch after school kindergarten Program. We are eager to provide your child with an exciting and educational experience this year. Our kindergarten program provides an incredible opportunity for your child to play, grow, and learn outside of the classroom by participating in multiple activities including athletics, group projects, art projects, holiday parties and more! Our Kindergarten program places your child with his or her peers in their own dedicated center to provide the most enriching environment possible.
We will build on what your child is learning at school by incorporating their curriculum into our program. Each day there are designated times for enrichment activities that will enhance your child’s school learning experience. Our kindergarten program coordinator will also provide homework assistance.
We are excited to welcome you to our kindergarten program as well as the Boys & Girls Club family. We look forward to many years of enriching your child’s social, emotional, and educational growth. The Boys & Girls Club does not have any residency or school district restrictions. Please call or email us with any questions you may have. We are currently enrolling for the 2009-10 school year.

Instruction Philosophy:
Our kindergarten classroom is based on cooperative learning as well as learning through play. Cooperative learning is one of the best researched of all teaching strategies. The results prove that students that have opportunities to work collaboratively learn faster and more efficiently, have greater retention, and feel more positive about the learning experience.
Imaginative play has long been recognized as being important for healthy development. Creative free play is an expression of the magical world of early childhood. Play is the way a child learns about the world. By nature, young children are constantly in movement and need the opportunity to express their ever deepening relationship to day-to-day life through their play.
About our Instructor:
